Our electricians at RWE will walk you through the EV charger installation process from verifying your panel can handle the added load to communicating with the electrical inspector.

With the increasing popularity of fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles more and more homeowners are looking to install Eelctrical Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE), or EV Chargers into their homes. At Roy Wormald Electric we are experienced in the isntallation of both Level 1 and Level 2 chargers, including Tesla Chargers.
When you first call us we will discuss options possible for your house with your existing electrical service. Car chargers draw a lot of electricity and it is important to verify that your panel can safely handle the added load. From here we will detemrine the best location to place the charger, keeping in mind that it must be protected from any damage. After installation is complete we can help with the set up of the charger if necessary.
All of our EVSE or EV Charger installations are backed by our warranty, and include a permit with the Electrical Safety Authority.
While a newer 200A panel often has spare capacity, a 100A service may not be able to handle the load of a Level 2 car charger. Our electricians will verify the suitability of the selected charger prior to any installation.
EV Chargers can draw significant electricity at times where there is no one nearby. For this reason all of our EVSE installations are done with safety as the most important consideration, and are code-compliant, including an electrical permit.
Our electrician will work with you to choose the best location of your charger. We will consider the protection of the charger, ease of use, and mazimize visual appeal of the install.
For plug-in chargers we install receptacles specifically designed for the extra wear and tear found in vehicle charging. We are also able to install safe weather proof receptacles for exterior installations
Tesla Wall Connectors are a unique installation that requries additional steps. Our electricians are experienced in the installation and set up of the chargers to match the unique requirements of your home and needs.
In the event of limited panel capacity, our electricians can work with you to install an Energy Management System (EMS) or Load Management, which can safely allow larger chargers to work on limited panel space.
