Roy Wormald Electric is trusted to provide safe and inspected panel upgrades. Working directly with hydro and the ESA inspectors we ensure your house is protected and up to date with the Ontario Electrical Code.

There are many reasons to consider a panel upgrade. Panel upgrades can be for safety reasons, replacing a fuse panel, issues with breakers tripping when they shouldn't, or replacing a brand of panel that is hard to get breakers for . You may have been told by a home inspector that your current panel is not safe. You can upgrade your panel for current or future upgrades to your house, anything from a full addition to adding a car charger, a hot tub, or a heat pump. Sometimes your current panel just runs out of room and you need to add more circuits.
Whatever the reason may be, Roy Wormald Electric is here to walk you through the process. One of our Licensed Electricians can provide a free quote and walkthrough where we can discuss if a panel upgrade is the right choice for you.
You may have heard both Panel and Service while researching your options, it's easy to get a bit confused between the two. A Panel upgrade would refer to changing out your actual panel, be it fuse or breaker, to a new one. A service upgrade involves changing the service coming into your house from the street, the part of the wire that comes in through either overhead service, or underground. To increase your panel size from 100A or 60A to 200A, you will need a service change as well.
A panel change can sound scary and intense! But at Roy Wormald Electric we strive to make the process as seamless as possible.
Any work done to your panel or service requires coordination with your electricity provider, as well as your local electrical inspector. We handle all of this.
During the panel change process, you will experience a power loss in your house. We will coordinate with you when this is most convenient. From the second power is turned off getting your power safely back on is our top priority.
